I would like to ask for a critique of this photo, what I should do differently, what I should be more careful about. I mostly take pictures of landscapes, but lately I've been trying more for portraits, and I know that I'll have to work on myself in this area.
I wanted to capture a simple, almost minimalistic portrait, specifically, this is an order for a client and a friend at the same time. The photo is for his speech magic project and website. The photo shoot was with one permanent led light (umbrella) against the wall and then only minor adjustments were made with practically no retouching from the position of the model retoucher. However I edited the background more.
The intention was to take a simple portrait, with half of the face more lit. Maybe I should have chosen a different modifier, etc., but that's why I'm asking for any advice.

Ragek welcome to Critique. Looking I see a well composed high quality image. The only thing I would like to see better would be lighter shadows. See attached. shadows +50 / Some dodge and burn work mans face and corners darkened...
Thanks a lot Daniel, I really appreciate your time and comments.
Radek,
A nice portrait, but the light is not in a good balance. My advice is: go with this portrait to Photoshop camara raw and use the radial gradient in perhaps 8 or 10 steps for several places. and use than the sleeves for LIGHT/DARK and/or SHADOW. You can make circles, ellipse, turn them larger or smaller. All is possible. If you have no RAW version you can go in Photoshop to Camera raw with tiff or jpg as follows: FILTER>CAMERA RAW FILTER. I made a version for you perhaps not perfect but here you can see what is possible to follow your own taste. Theo L.
PS. You can also try to improve your colour version in camara raw and go later to B&W for the best result. I have seen you are a good photographer so you will find your own way.
Thanks a lot Theo for another idea and feedback. I really appreciate your time and comments.
