Nikon D750

A truly disappointment. They just put a new sensor in that D610 body with a lot of things which actual nobody need. The camera feels like a toy. I miss the huge finder and the pro dials the same like the bigger display on top. I do not know what they thinking and what is the plan now but this camera is a development backwards. My old D200 feels better.

What u think of this camera?

I had several opportunities to use the D750 for a short time. Coming from a D700, handling needs some getting used to (the D750 is significantly smaller), but haptics are good for slim hands. What I did not like is the arrangement of AF-points. Although there are 51 AF-points, the AF-field is narrower than on the D700/800/810-line, but still wider than the D610. I compared the haptics with the D610 on the same occasions. For me, the D750 is much better to hold, because the grip on the right side is much deeper. The AF-field made me stop from instantly ordering a D750. If I want to continue with what I have in my D700, I would need to take the D810, but I could probably also get used to a D750.

Robert,

Your critique sounds rather harsh...

The D750 doesn't have the pro body of the 810, but it doesn't have the body of the D610 either. Or, as dpreview puts it: "The D750 is essentially a lower resolution, less expensive version of Nikon's D810 but if actually offers quite a bit more, including a better autofocus system, faster burst mode, tilting LCD, and built-in Wi-Fi. The major trade-offs are build quality/durability and resolution. If that sounds like an impressive camera to you, then you're absolutely right."

There are many reviews out there which suggest that the D750 hits the sweet spot in a number of areas:

Robert, If you need "pro" feeling (heavy, big, ...) take a D4s or a D810.

I use the D750 since three months and I am very happy with it. I often use the tilt screen and WLAN. I am also happy that the D750 is not as big and heavy as the D700 and the D800 I had before.

THX, you guys are right, technically a good sensor and a handy small camera but nothing else more for me. Using pro gear i had the expectation of the follower of the D700 but the D750 is far away from that in terms of handling. This WIFI issue i have on several other cameras but never used it and also do not know why i need such or for what it is good. The tilt screen is nice but also not much of use for me since i have a camera with such but never really needed it. But i think it is now a days up to date such things to have. Anyway i wait some more time and perhaps some better and new is coming. The big ones i have already:-)

I have come to the D750 through the DX route via a D90 and aD7000. My instant and simple answer to your question is "I love it" Its quick, the focus system works very very well, it can see in the dark. Incredibly pictures taken at maximum ISO are usable. In a few words it's a great camera. It was not intended to replace "Pro cameras" and to compare it to them is unfair. It's a very good way to get into full frame and produces super images.
